How to get several teachers in your school involved with News Bowl!

To successfully implement the News Bowl weekly games program, the teachers in your building need to have easy access to the program.

News Bowl recommends that each school have a News Bowl web person who uses the school username and pass code to print off the games every Monday morning of the school year. The web person copies and staples the News Bowl Primer (2-pages) and the News Bowl Weekly (4-pages) and puts them in the teacher mail boxes each Monday. The first week, the web person should print, copy and staple all the 30-45 minute games and the 5-15 minute activities. Once this is done, the teachers keep rules on hand in their classroom.

As the weeks pass by, more and more teachers will begin to use the games in some fashion. News Bowl wants as many teachers in a building using the games. It is vital that all teachers understand and follow the copyright that games "are not" to be sent home with students and games may not be distributed to teachers in "another school building."

The 30-45 minute games include the familiar jeopardy game, Road Rally Geography, RPS News Bowl, Pigskin News Bowl, Slam Dunk News Bowl and Track & Field News Bowl. Teachers can reserve the games as a Friday reward time, or they may use it as part of their enrichment curriculum. News Bowl will soon add a power point game for teachers who want a visual aid. The 5-15 minute activities can be used daily as closure to the day or a class or as a "sponge" activity at the beginning of class time.
