News Bowl Wash

Game Show jeopardy | Pigskin | Slam Dunk | Road Rally Geography | Track & Field | RPS
  1. Divide the class into two teams with captains.
  2. Flip a coin to see which team goes first.
  3. Teacher reads four (4) questions of the same point value to team one. Team one has the opportunity to answer all four questions right for four tallies. If team one misses a question team two can immediately answer the question correctly to gain a tally.
  4. After team one is finished with their four questions, then teacher then reads four questions of the same point value to team two. If team two answers all four questions correctly, they gain four tallies. If team two misses any of their four questions team one can immediately answer the questions correctly to gain to tally.
  5. After round one ends, compare the tally points of each time. If the tally points are equal (ex: team one has 3 tallies and team two has 3 tallies) this is called a News Bowl Wash and the game continues with four new questions to each team using the same point totals.
  6. After round one, if one of the teams leads in tallies they have just won the right to answer a 50-point bonus question delivered at the discretion of the teacher. Discretion means the teacher can choose the bonus question from any of the categories within the News Bowl Weekly / Primer game. There is no stealing of the 50-points should the team miss their special bonus question.
  7. Round two begins with a new set of four questions to each team using the same point totals.

In summary, the teams playing are playing for a chance to answer a 50-point bonus question from the teacher. The round questions are delivered simply to score tallies to see which team can outdo the other and not have a News Bowl Wash.
